Summer Mini-Workshop
CREATIVE NON-FICTION STRATEGIES & SOLUTIONS
Creative nonfiction is all the rage these days, blending the factual  elements of nonfiction/memoir with the creative forms usually  reserved for fiction. Creative nonfiction doesn’t just tell the reader what happened when and how; it develops a complete story with  atmosphere and feeling, allowing the reader to feel for themselves. We’ll examine short works created by students based on writing prompts in a supportive workshop environment. With lunch time & breaks.

THE ART OF THE REWRITE

Writing a first draft is a process of magic & creativity. Revision is when your story transforms into art. Explore techniques for looking at & editing your own work, & discovering how your story & your understanding of it, evolves through different drafts. And rather than just spend a little extra time on revising your pieces, we will extend this process throughout the class. Perfect for writers who want to find that next level in their writing.
